January in Italy

There wasn't as much flooding this morning.

A drained canal, typical venetian construction site. Your average canal is 9 feet deep; It flucuates about 3 feet between high & low tides.

You'd find entire bottom floors of buildings abandoned, residents moving up one floor; I'm guessing this is the early stages of an eventual garage.

Even the pre-made panini's sucked.

All five of us threw in on todays gondola.

The last shots of Venezia. If you get the chance, it's worth a few days visit.

On Eurostar, we headed back to Rome.
