We only had 2 electric burners and a toaster oven to cook christmas dinner. The electricity kept going out (Rick Steve says Americans always waste electric), so we had to cut it down to just a single burner.

When I say "we" I'm excluding me - We made crab stuffed mushrooms, pork chops in a marmelade sauce, (fresh) bowtie pasta in a white sauce, Artichoke casserole, and Salad w/ sliced apple & roasted almonds. Awesome. Italians eat salad at the end of a meal, so did we. Keep in mind that all this ingredients was from the local market where even the pig was slaughtered just minutes prior to it's frying.

These cakes are a standard christmas dessert in Italy, they come in a cardboard box w/ a handle; Similar to the fruitcake except these don't end up in the trash.

Around the tree...

Our nativity scene.

Like the cadbury egg in a United States easter, these ones are at christmas, and each have a different piece of plastic garbage in the center.

What chicks do when they're bored. You should hear what they talk about.

One of four lion fountains in the center of "Piazza del Popolo".

Every major spot in Rome revolves around a fountain. This one is right in front of the Spanish steps.

And the steps... I should rename this portion of ghettocooler.com from it's current "December In Italy" to "Over exposed night shots".
At the top of the stairs sits this building. It has some kind of spanish signifigance, although all I can remember about it is that - It sits at the top of the spanish steps.
The view from the top of the steps. One block up the street straight ahead leads to "Via del Corso". When designer brands have "New York, Paris, Rome" written underneath their labels, this is the street the "Rome" is referring to. Overpriced for tourists - even my cheap ass dropped 85 euro (roughly 87 USD) on a pair of adidas'. Allright, technically my girlfriend put them on her credit card.
A closed shop front on Via Del Corso.
Heading away from Del Corso, another photograph.
Vittore Emanuele II - A few blocks from the end of Via Del Corso near the ruins and within shouting distance of the Colloseum. There's a huge staircase up the side of Vittore Emanuele giving city view access, we intend to soon climb.
